Aech's Basement

Multiple VR games and experiences released as cross promotions between new emerging VR headsets and the launch of the Ready Player One movie. This tour of Aech's basement by Sansar is one such experience:

Aech's Setup included:

An RCA Television (this one is from 1984)

A Sony Betamax VCR (this one is from 1980 under the name "Time Commander" and had unique features like variable speed, slow motion, and 'crystal clear' freeze frame!)

And a Laser Disc player, this one is the Pioneer LD-700, released in 1984, it was the first front-loading disc bay as opposed to the top loading ones from the 70s.

Dragon Magazine

Dragon is one of two official magazines for the role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons. Print issues lasted from 1976 to 2007.

Various Races

  • I sure hope you know what a human is.

  • Demons are based on evil spirits related to Hell and the devil.

  • Dark Elves vary in gaming but usually represent similar traits, such as darker skin, and a penchant for war.

  • Vulcans reign from Star Trek, the most notable being Spock. They are an alien humanoid species recognizable by their impressive intellect and (not to be confused with elves) pointy ears.

  • Vampires are undead beings who live on the life force of humans. The life force being blood. David from the The Lost Boys (1987) is one such vampire.

Released by Philips in 1963 a Cassette is an analog magnetic tape recording format for audio recording and playback. It also found applications in limited data storage.

Vertical side scroller run and gun game developed by SNK. Published in NA and EU by Tradewest and was released in 1986

This is an Intellivison Controller, featuring 12 button numeric keypad, 4 side-located action buttons, and a directional pad capapble of detecting 16 directions of movement.

"Krull" was a 1983 Sci-fi movie. It was a total flop and didn't profit, but holds a place in our hearts for obscure movies quoted by Ready Player One.

"Howard the Duck"

A 1986 sci-fi 'comedy' film about the Marvel character by the same name. With a very low rating and losing a fair amount of money.

The Ladyhawke soundtrack was composed by Andrew Powell and produced by Alan Parsons. The Album was released in 1985

 Highlander II: The Quickening is a 1991 sci-fi action film. Disliked by critics and fans for veering way off course for the Highlander franchise. Altering story-lines and introducing inconsistencies.
